During the early 80s and as business and industry were developing rapidly in Jordan, demand for secretarial skills and administrative support was increasing. The shareholders were quick to react to such challenge by establishing an educational center to provide much needed services and expertise. In 1984, the Sight and Sound Educational Center was established under license by the main branch in the UK and the Ministry of Education in Jordan. It is located in a four-storey building in a nice high class central location called Shmessani.

It is also a division of one of the biggest and most reputable business groups in Jordan (AK GROUP)  which helped  the center to be a landmark in the region . It has become the premier educational center in Jordan for providing young graduates with the ultimate secretarial and administrative quality training and skills, which have become a necessity for almost all job opportunities .

Its mission being to provide students with best training, using the best and most up to date techniques, in order to easily fulfill the market demand. The Sight & Sound has been considered a revolution in the educational system At that time, Sight & Sound was one of the few centers offering such services in the country.

Today, Sight & Sound continues to be the leading center in Jordan in providing full secretarial courses following the most successful and modern methods of teaching. The It provides its services and expertise to nearly 800 students annually, of which approximately 50% are University Graduates. The other 50% happens to be Tawjihi Students who did not succeed in joining universities. These students join the center to enhance their skills on a full or part time basis. In addition, its professional and certified curriculum is the most challenging and is being offered in the most genuinely comfortable academic atmosphere by a highly qualified team of 30 staff members.

At the early 90s and as customer demand and expectations changed, the Sight and Sound started developing new courses and programs. Nowadays, the center does not only specialize in Secretarial Duties but also offers: Information Technology Courses and Business Courses certified by The University of Cambridge in England. It also became an authorized Testing Center by Microsoft.

The mission of Sight & Sound goes beyond the academic part and into the practical applications of their courses. The Center provides its graduates with the best job opportunities both in Jordan and abroad through its well-established resource bank. Therefore, Sight & Sound established the Recruiting Services Department to help its graduates in finding proper job opportunities. Due to the huge demand to hire our graduates, the center has been able to fulfill only 25% of total requests received yearly by companies.

Moreover, the center has not only cared about its high standard of education but also cared highly about keeping a clean and safe environment. The center has prohibited smoking in the building, minimized the use of papers, allocated trash for recycled items, maintained high standards of safety by frequent maintenance of fire extinguishers, plants in the garden, and employed a team of three people for the daily cleaning of the center.

Licensing Agreements

Apart from being accredited by the Ministry of Education in Jordan, Sight and Sound paid attention to expanding its courses offered through gaining extra licensing agreements and franchise. The center obtained the franchise of Futurekids center for teaching kids computer skills at early stages which started its commercial operations in 1998. Not only that, but 2001 it become an authorized testing center for Microsoft Office Specialist Tests MOS to enable its students to receive the Microsoft Office Specialist Certificate and which proved to be a fruitful accomplishment as many students acquired the above mentioned certificate.

In 2001, Sight and Sound has also become an approved attached center to the Cambridge University for the Business Diplomas. Ever since, large number of students successfully pass the Cambridge Exams yearly, and obtain the Full Diploma in Business issued directly by Cambridge.
