royaljordaniansRoyal Jordanian Airlines is opening a route from Jordan's capital Amman to Hong Kong commencing from January 22. This is the first air-route connecting Jordan to China.

Samer Majali, president of Royal Jordanian Airlines, said that the company plans to initially operate three round-trip flights per week between Amman and Hong Kong via the Thai capital Bangkok and that it expects to increase this to five flights per week by the summer.

With this new route, Jordan and China will strengthen their ties and encourage the development of a friendly relationship in all fields, especially in business, trade, and tourism.

It is reported that Hong Kong has become the airline's fifty-fifth new destination since Royal Jordanian Airlines joined the Oneworld Alliance. Royal Jordanian Airlines is a state-owned airline with more than 40 years of history in Jordan. In 2005, the company joined Oneworld Alliance and became the first airline in the Middle East to be a member of one of the three largest aviation alliances in the world.
