Citibank N.A., Amman, Jordan (a Branch of Citibank; a member of Citigroup) was established in 1974 and is a fully licensed commercial bank in Jordan having two branches in the capital city, Amman. Citibank Jordan today has a total of 58 employees, and is responsible for Citibank's business in Jordan, Syria and the Palestine National Authority. Citibank is the only commercial US bank in the country and the only global foreign bank with senior local management. Citibank Jordan has introduced a number of "firsts" in the local market such as: being the first bank in Jordan to introduce fully automated systems for custody safekeeping and settlements, the first and only bank in Jordan to provide Electronic Banking for Jordanian banks for local and foreign currency cash management, the first bank in Jordan to provide full Correspondent Banking Services, including Electronic Banking for cash and trade for banks in the Palestine National Authority.
