Oh well that was the dream part, littele I knew it will turn into a real nightmare, first the sales personal assures you that your area is covered, totaly and will get great signal, they give you a wi-fi modem, the size of footbal, when asked they told me in 30 days will get a small as USB moden that I can hook my laptop to and have freedom of internet anywhere, so thought not bad at all, well I bought the ugly thing in December 2007, no connection and if there was any, so slow it reminds me of the 28kb modems.

Umniah kept promising a better service and better download speed, but here I am in July and that thing just got bigger, yes the small wireless device became a huge box fixed to my roof top, but still the same problem, well went to the Umniah office, no luck, tryed to call the land line, oh boy if they answer it and that is a big if, you wont get to where you want, dead ends everywhere.

So I ended up paying 400JD for something I never got, sounds like a hussel to you? well it is, in any standard and in any country, but here in Jordan they get away with it so easy, you got no one to turn to, no consumer protection nothing, you are just an easy prey for those big companies.

So even with a bad service and long waiting time I would advise anyone to get a regular internet line (landline) as at least you get some internet and the technical support is low but far better than what Umniah has to offer.

I think the main problem is with us, the consumers, we do not know our rights, and even if we do we do not protect them, we are treat by those companies as if we were offered these services for free, not as if we saved our hard earned money and hand it out just like that and get nothing in return.

I once heard a saying that customer is always right, well i will add this to i, only not in Jordan.
